Cebreros (DOP Cebreros) is a young, officially formed only in 2017, wine region in the province of Avila, 80 kilometers from the capital of Spain. But wine has been made on local granite soils since the 14th century. The region is part of the Sierra de Gredos mountain range and is primarily famous for its red garnacha wines. Garnacha is currently a super trendy variety all over the world, and winemakers from Gredos and, in particular, from Cebreros receive the highest marks from Luis Gutierrez, critic of the most authoritative wine publication Wine Advocate (Robert Parker).
